persona theme when I bookmark a page

Firefox 12 automatically changes my persona theme when I bookmark a page There is a strange problem with my web browser. Right now my computer using Firefox 12 as a default browser. The issue is whenever I bookmark any page, it changes my persona theme automatically and applies a different one which I have never downloaded or installed in that. This looks quite strange and seems like it is a default behavior of Firefox 12. I had the same problem with Firefox 11 but I have solved it. I don’t know how and even I don’t remember the steps. Same problem again appeared on this update. Do you have any solutions? Reply With Quote #2 Unread 6 Days Ago Jigisha Jigisha is offline Member Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 69 Re: Firefox 12 automatically changes my persona theme when I bookmark a page Did you try switching to the default theme? It looks like a cause of some third party theme, may be extension or plug-in. it would be better if you always use a default theme which will not cause any kind of problem in my experience. To set the default theme. Click on Tools menu> Add-ons. Add-ons Manager tab will open. Choose the select Appearance panel and there select the default theme. Finally click on Enable button, to make Firefox switch to default theme. Sometime it may ask you to restart the firefox to apply the theme. Now test your problem. If it no longer occurs, then the theme which you are using might be faulty. Reply me with your results if possible. Themes available for Personas are so many that no longer counted. They are available in various categories, so it is very easy to find a suitable theme to your liking. By default when you install Personas and once set a theme is not allowed changing it m0do automatically after you set a amount of time. Although it is a function created by a small extension for the Mozilla browser, you can automatically change the subject to rotation among the many personas are offered and available to users. Personas Rotator is very easy to use addon name to see more and different Personas changed automatically. The component should be added after you installed Personas. Next by installing Personas Rotator you can set various options that we offer the add-on (time to change theme and other similar. You should aware about this. It is not the Firefox doing. New skins for Firefox have become very popular these days, now with the ease of installing just one click and in seconds, nobody can resist them. I have heard that this kind of problem also occurs when the settings of an extension override Firefox settings. So it is necessary to check the extension's settings all the time in case if you find strange behavior with your Firefox browser. You have to find the option or certain extension that is causing the browser to change the theme automatically or when you bookmark a page. To check it: Go to Tools> Extensions. Choose the extension which might be the culprit and click on Option button. Click the settings to see if there is an option that might solve your problem. If you come across a appropriate option, click Save and Restart Firefox.

Firefox 12 automatically dumping valid Emails to Trash folder

Firefox 12 automatically dumping valid Emails to Trash folder In my Firefox I had set up filters to send spam emails directly to the trash folder. It happens automatically whenever a spam mails received. Now with the Firefox 12 with same filters enabled, spam emails properly being dumped to trash folder but along with this some valid mails are also automatically dumped into trash. They have not set up with a filter but still they are moving to Trash folder. How I can avoid this? How to change the filter settings? Reply With Quote #2 Unread 6 Days Ago FullTimepass FullTimepass is offline Member Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 92 Re: Firefox 12 automatically dumping valid Emails to Trash folder As far as I know that this filter settings or spam prevention setting is only available on Email account. The web browser or Firefox has nothing to do with it since it is just a web browser. It cannot handle emails or manage them. You should contact your Email provider for that and get to know how to change the settings. Most of the email provider has a tech support line or community forum to directly or indirectly interact with the end users. It depends on where you have an email account. I know that there are Gmail accounts to Gmail Notifier. However if you are using the web mail, you should ask the help from your internet service provider or a forum for that service. Did you use the Add-ons or something else? There is a goof add-on for Firefox called Spam control which use of email addresses, use temporary email addresses as well as auto forwarders to assist efficiently prevent spam. It makes use of free services like spamgourmet and temporary inbox. When you install this add-on on your browser, it will install a toolbar as well as a pop-up menu to Firefox. It will email address which you have typed in it. Other than this it gives easy way to control along with several other choice. The installation and configuration is very easy and it will help you to don’t get lot of spam in your inbox. Reply With Quote

I need to say that if you are having any issues with your youtube video player and if any videos are not tending to play in your browser, you need to check the version of your IE9. So which version of IE9 are you making use of ? is it the 64 version. You should also see to it that resetting IE to defaults makes any difference? I need to provide with an useful information which will help you in your case. So adding to the topic, Flash 64-bit is out (since Flash 11) and is included in the Flash plug-in installer. As well as If the setup detects that you are making use of a 64-bit OS, it will tend to install both.In my case YouTube works well as I am also making use of IE9 (Windows fully updated (just checked)). I am of the opinion that if you are making use of installing any Flash blocker, or ad blocker add-on or toolbar your issue might get solved. I would further recommend to uninstall all your toolbars (if any), and in IE9, click on the Gear icon, and you need to make a selection on the pop-up menu, "Manage add-on", and also make certain that you have: Flash enabled, as well as you don't have something that appears similar to a blocker add-on. Hello guys, a similar issue has occurred in my case and after trying your above solutions, but didn’t work . I have then tried with uninstalling flash, uninstalled IE9, and then I also reinstalled IE9 and downloaded and reinstalled flash11 by means of Internet Explorer 9. There is no change still . It shows flash 10 in add ons as well as youtube is random in what it won’t to play while it plays in Mozilla Firefox . I have founded from some sources that you need to clear the browser cache. And for your current browser internet explorer 9 you need to make some settings. * you need to go in Tools and then in Internet Options and then in Browsing History , you need to delete * make a selection of everything except 'Preserve Favorites website data' and then Delete. I need to say that occasionally YouTube tends to stop working and have a complete clean out of the cache appears to reset it. For this proceed to Accessories under all program, from start menu an from the system tool option, open Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). I recommend you to first try to disable the antivirus while you are browsing any web page, if still it occurring then disable the firewall option, this also can be happened if you are using any trial version of the antivirus program. If you are suing the trial version, then I suggest you to download any freeware antivirus program and install into your machine. There is another way, i am not sure whether this one working or not, open OS installed folder from primary driver, and open Common Files, which is having the path like "C:\Program Files\Common Files", from there remove completely the "Ulead Systems" folder. Try with this, any one will surely be help you. For start remove all the security toolbars that are added to the web browser. Disable them and then check back. If still the issue appear go in the addons section and find relevant updates related to this codec thing. Remove it and check back. Run internet explorer in No addon mode if possible. The last thing you can do is remove Aol software from your system entirely. If you have this get rid of it. Also just ensure that you are using Internet Explorer in Admin mode. Some addons related to codec is not able to run due to low privileges. Reply With Quote #8 Unread 2 Days Ago Carita Carlos Carita Carlos is offline Member Join Date: Jun 2011 Posts: 512 Re: Internet explorer: Ulead MP3 Codec v 1.0.18 pop up message keeps showing This issue is related to Aol in your system. When a mail comes it triggers a audio that saying you got a mail. This audio is supported by Ulead Codec. So if you have any audio notification set on the mail client you will need to disable that. Try to do that and check back. Check in the Aol settings where you can find an option to turn off the sound completely. Run the same back again and check. Now when you get or receive a new mail you will not find the same pop up message on your screen. Because many times I had notice this add-ons installs additional options in your browser which then screws the system. What I found by Codec-C error that it is not a threat. My antivirus did not found this any kind of Trojan or malware. You can simple get rid of any addon which is associated with this code. Go in your addon page and check properly. If you find VeeHD or Crossride web apps then eliminate them. When you are done with the removal run CCleaner to wipe out all those files which are not needed in the system. I had seen on web there are number of tools which cause more infection in your system. Anyhow it is a kind of threat I think. You can run a system scan in safe mode. In safe mode minimum applications are run because of which the antivirus clears up file more thoroughly. In safe mode run a system scan and check you can get that thing detected or not. Unable to log into hotmail email even after trying to change password by it won't accept I am using Hotmail since years now and have never had any issues with it. But just a day back I don’t know what happened and suddenly there are some issues with my mail that I am encountering. I have tried many times to change my password but the password is not changing. It just pops up with a window with empty fields again and now when I try to login with my new password it says that the password is invalid. For example, if you are normally using your computer at home, then try using a different Internet connection. If you’ll be able to sign in from other Internet connection then there might be some temporary issues with your internet connection or browser settings. Here is some thing that you can try to resolve the issue: Restart your computer. Check whether your computer’s date and time are set correctly. Set your browser to accept third party cookies. Hope this will resolve the issue for you. If you are able to sign into any one of this then the issue is likely with that site and not with your account. You can even try to change your password from over there and then again you can login with hotmail and see if the new password set now is working or not. Check if deleting cookies and cache helps. Recognizing email received in hotmail is genuine or spam/ phishing? I am using hotmail since last three months. I have recently got a mail form the Apple saying that I have won an ipad. I am not sure that the mail I have received is genuine or spam or fake. How can I recognize the mail which I have received is from the sender only and not from someone else? Reply With Quote #2 Unread 2 Days Ago Cauvery Cauvery is offline Member Join Date: May 2011 Posts: 301 Re: Recognizing email received in hotmail is genuine or spam/ phishing? This all mails are actually sent by the hackers and spammers. Who are willing to have your password, credit card number and other personal information. They do this to fraud people. They make fake id’s in the name of big companies, send you mails that contain illegal details. In their most of mail you can notice one thing that they always say to provide your personal information, banking information and even say that you should not tell one regarding this mail. They have many tricks for fraud such as lucky prize won by you, some amount won by you, You have to pay this amount to this company. There are many ways that the hackers and the spammers use to exploit your account and information. You will be given a warning in the mail. Asking for personal information. Your User id and password as well as they even tell you to provide your credit card number. They warn that deleting or ignoring this mail will delete your mail account. But you should not get afraid of these warnings and instead check for the mail is genuine or fake. Here are some of the points that you should keep in mind and to check whether the mail is fake or not. The email is generally unprofessional or unpolished in look. Notice the brands logo on the mail. Random words are capitalized in the email such as Email, Email User Accounts Owner, User, Accounts and so on. The grammar used in mail is very week There is an urgency of response time. Any official mail doesn’t pressurize or tell you take quick decisions. Signature is incomplete, stating awkwardly. For e.g. The Windows Live Hotmail, not Windows Live Hotmail or The Windows Live Hotmail Team. Here’s an example of the fake mail. This mail was received by my friend stating that he has won 50,00,000 Rs. In mail it was written that you have won 50,00,000 Rs. After then they wrote the story that how he won such prize. They mentioned the name of the bank as First Bank of Nagaland. They were also telling that you should not show or tell anyone about this mail and in the end they said that to verify we require your personal information, Banking information and your phone number. How did we recognize this mail as fake. First Bank of Nagaland sounds pretty unusual. Email address was @hotmail.com. no bank uses hotmail or gmail. Odd capitalizations throughout the email. How did they find my email address Why are they giving people Rs 50,00,000 Why are they telling that not to tell anyone regarding this mail. You may get a mail from your friend saying that he is in trouble and needs some money. Anyone would help his friend if he is in trouble. But if you notice that the friend has sent you an email he didn’t tried to contact you. If he was going somewhere then he didn’t inform you. And why is your friend giving you his account number and saying to transfer the amount in that account. You should not be in a hurry when you receive such kind of mails. If you receive such kind of mails then check whether the mail is sent by your friend. Has he tried to contact you on the phone. Check for the things which are unusual. We get mails saying that provide the information and you might be the lucky winner for today. They provide a list of questions and tell you to fill up. But before filling it up take some time and check that what information they require. Don’t click on any links which are provided. Do not make any calls to their customer service. Don’t verify your mail id with the link provided. By clicking on the link they may have your password. Don’t enter your is and password to the linked page. It stores your id and password and possible that they may change your password or send mail to anyone from your account. Reply With Quote

Google Chrome New Instance opens behind current focus Window

Google Chrome New Instance opens behind current focus Window Currently I am on the latest version of Google Chrome. The thing is whenever I open a new instance (New window) in Chrome, it opens behind the current Window which has focus. I tried the same thing on Firefox but there won’t be a problem like that. My system is running Windows 7 64-bit. Does anyone know the solution for this? Reply With Quote #2 Unread 01-03-2012 AliyaK AliyaK is offline Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Posts: 291 Re: Google Chrome New Instance opens behind current focus Window I have a solution and to follow this: First of all open any Windows and make it has focus. Windows folder will do Now simply open a new window of Google Chrome (not a tab). You can easily open it by Shift + Left Clicking the Google Chrome button on quick launch. Otherwise if you have Google Chrome already opened, you can press Control + N. Now it will not open BEHIND the window. MY computers are running Windows 7 and in both I have noticed that same kind of problem. However the strange thing is, you cannot notice this on Linux. The problem is very annoying and it’s only about the Windows version. I don’t know Google will find a patch for this. Can’t really tell whether it is a Chrome bug or issue with Windows 7. Here also the same thing. Whenever I open new chrome window from the on quick launch icon when a previous chrome window is currently in focus, the new one will become visible but it will not show any kind of keyboard focus. I can see only the blinking cursor in address bar. When I try to type suddenly, nothing appears on there. It won’t take any keyboard input. I am on regular update and I think that still it has lot more bugs to fix. By the way the following steps will guide you to rename your account: Select options from the Hotmail inbox. Click on “Managing You account”. Click on the “Change hyper link” next to Windows Live ID. Enter new email and click save. The feature in which you can change email address is applicable only to Email address as Sign-In accounts for example @yahoo.com or @gamil.com etc, If you are using an email address that was provided by MSN or by Windows Live you cannot change the name of your mail account. For example, you are using a @hotmail.com email address or a windows Live Admin centre email address. Windows 7 Internet Connections

Windows 7 Internet Connections I have windows 7, ADSL, Chrome and IE9. My problem is that when I am connected to broadband (manual logon), a LOCAL AREA CONNECTION also comes alive and results in some websites seeing the broadband connection and some the LAC. This cause some websites to ask if I want to go online, even though the broadband is connected. If I disable the LAC the broadband connection dies and will only re-logon when the LAC is re-enabled. I have checked the status of both and the LAC, even though it is not shown via the Windows 7 connection icon, is downloading data continually. Any ideas???? Reply With Quote

Cannot move tabs in Firefox 12

Cannot move tabs in Firefox 12 After updating from Firefox version 11 to version 12, there is no way I can move tabs on the tab bar. It seems like the tabs opened are completely locked. There is no drag and drop functions enabled for the Tab bar. Do you think that there is lock and unlock button for the tab bar which will enable and disable dragging/dropping of tabs? I always use permanent private browsing mode with third party cookies and cache disabled. Is it really a bug or this feature has been simply disabled in the latest browser? Can you list them out? I have heard that this issue is caused by the TorButton addon. This is an unfortunate issue and I don’t think that there is any fix other than disabling it. The only fix is, disable this add-on by going into the Tools > Add-ons then Extensions and click on TorButton, choose Disable. Restart the Firefox to take effect. If possible also try to Start Firefox in Safe Mode. This will help you to find out which extensions are causing the problem. Switch to DEFAULT theme and do not make changes to the settings. There are two reasons why I have not proposed to change my browser and why I like Firefox but never finished convince me at all. Safari seems faster but there is always a page that gives me problems. The first reason that I do not plan to change is Mouse Gestures extension and the second is the ease when moving between tabs. Let's say I have four tabs open, as in the photo above, and in each I have a different page. Now let's say I am on the first tab and I want to move to the second, Firefox allows me to do this either by mouse or the keyboard shortcut Command + 2. If I wanted to move to the third tab, the combination would be Command + 3 and so on. Safari also offers the ability to move between tabs, but the key combination is not as intuitive. Reply With Quote #4 Unread 1 Week Ago Svana's Avatar Svana Svana is offline Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Posts: 227 Re: Cannot move tabs in Firefox 12 It now seems to me that Firefox 12 moves to the Aurora channel which comes with a long-awaited New Tab Page and Home Tab. The new tab page is very much like Chrome’s but with ton of Firefox-unique functionality. The new tab page shows 3-by-3 grid of your most-visited websites. There you can hide a tile, drag and drop the tiles and more. For Firefox home tab there are 2 phases: First one adds “launchers” at the bottom. It may contain one-click links to downloads, settings, apps etc and the Phase two reworks on the home page paradigm. Exit the blank page, it is now possible to display thumbnails of new websites, whether popular or results added manually. By default, however, this new feature may not be available and it is then a blank page that appears. To activate the new tab page, from Firefox 12, it should go to about: config and change the key browser.newtab.url. It will then replace its value about: blank by about: newtab. You then to define shortcuts to websites you want to have on hand when opening a new tab. Note that it is possible to rearrange the thumbnails, delete or pin so as not to see them disappear. Two small icons located in the upper allow more hide this page and reset new tab. Since this tabs issue in firefox 12 is caused by TorButton addon, then have you tried uninstalling or disabling the same. After disabling it check whether your problem gets solved or not, or you can even revert back to any firefox working versions. Reply With Quote

Error Code 80070422 with Windows Live Messenger

Error Code 80070422 with Windows Live Messenger I have been running windows 7 in my system and I use Windows Live Messenger as well and everything was working fine by now but then I don’t know what went wrong with the same now, now when I am signing on to Windows Live Messenger then after entering the account name and password I am getting an error message saying “the service is temporarily unavailable” I don’t think that there is any issue as such as I am not having any issue from logging on to it by using the Messenger platform on hotmail and checking out the emails as well. As far as I am aware the issue has started after changing the default web browser but then now even after reverting back to the default web browser is not making any difference and the issue is still the same, I am really running out of ideas in finding out the cause of this issue, is there anyone else who has faced the same and has any idea about solving it?? First just go in to control panel and then choose the uninstall/change option by right clicking on the same When you will be prompted for choosing the uninstall or repair then chose the repair option and after some time the process will get completed. Now when you will sign in then you should not have the same issue. I think that the issue had occurred after some update to windows 7 in my case and I doubt the same in yours as well, so just try this out and then let me know what you get. Make sure that you are just deleting the folder having your email address and not other folders, If you delete other items then you won’t be able to recovered. If that does not help then Click on Start and then open the Control Panel and then open Programs and Features and select “Windows Live Messenger” from the list and then chose the “Uninstall/Change” button. After that when you will be prompted for uninstall and repair then chose the option for Repairing Windows Live Programs and then wait for the Installer to complete the repairing task, once the process gets completed then Restart your computer and now log in again and now you should not have any issues. You have to click on Firefox button and go for Help menu and simply select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.... Firefox would launch with Firefox Safe Mode dialog. Even you press and hold Shift key in order to launch Firefox on your browser. You should click on Continue Safe mode. while using Firefox in safe mode all extensions as well as themes are getting disabled. If you have done any customization on Firefox tool bar then it would be reverted. Once you have quit Safe mode Firefox would return into normal state before running into Safe mode. You can do the same by using following instruction. You have to click on launch Firefox and click on Tools and go for Add-ons. Click on Appearance and after that click on Themes. Here you have to choose default theme and you have to click on Enable button so that Firefox can switch default theme. Finally restart browser and see whether it helps you out or not. First of all you should launch Firefox and click Tools menu if you running Windows XP. Now you have to click on Add on. It would launch Add On Manager. Now click on Plugin tab from Add On manager tab. Disable all plugin and see whether it is working or not. If issue seems to resolve after disabling plugin then I would recommend that you should figure out the pugin which is causing issue. Once you have find out the culprit then you should update or reinstall your plugin. You should backup all the book marks if you don’t wanted to loose them. Reply With Quote Reply

Why 2 windows are needed to run Firefox 12?

Why 2 windows are needed to run Firefox 12? from past couple of days I am getting an interesting issue with Firefox.. I need to launch couple of Firefox windows in order to make use of Firefox. The 1sr Firefox window is getting freeze and I need to shutdown the system in order to close it forcefully. While browsing a website I got prompt saying that I am using unsecure version in order to update. Hence I have updated the browser but it did not worked for me at all. the freezing issue with browser was still persisting. Even while browsing again I got the same kind of error message. Let me know why above mentioned issue is happening. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance. Reply With Quote #2 Unread 1 Week Ago Suigetsu Suigetsu is offline Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Posts: 435 Re: Why 2 windows are needed to run Firefox 12? As far as I know you will be able to resolve normal freezing issue by simply restarting your computer. it seems to be an essential solution if you wanted to kill firefox.exe as well as plugincontainer.exe. however I am suggesting below mentioned solution which you can give try. The above mentioned issue might be happening because of multiple copies of Session restore file are created. You should simply open Profile Folder. If you are running Windows XP then you should click on Firefox button on browser and you have to click on Help menu. Here you have to look for Troubleshooting Information, it would result into Opening of Troubleshooting Information tab., From Application Basics section you have to click on Open Containing Folder. It would open a Windows which should be having profile files. Now you have to locate and delete sessionstore.js file and see whether it is working or not. Also you can cease Firefox session by making use of Option available into Orange Firefox Button. Hey thanks a lot for the prompt replies of yours. I wanted to provide some additional information which can help you to get exact root cause of the issue. I have noticed that one of Window not detected by Task Manager itself. You will be able to right click on Taskbar to launch new Window. However if you try to launch new tab then you will see that new tab is visible but it is not loading at all. also new tab is not responding. I have never heard anything about that each browser should be listed couple of times in task manager. I am wondering that first window is having smaller size as compare to another one. As first window of Firefox is not responding because there is 1 reference to Firefox into the process list of Task Manager. I have noticed that there are some graphics card and graphics driver setups causing Firefox to freeze when it is using hardware acceleration. Hence you should turn off hardware acceleration and see whether it helps you out or not. You should launch Firefox on your system if it is already closed. From Firefox windows you have to click on Firefox button and click on Options. Now you have to go for Advanced panel and click on General. After that you have to uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available. Checkbox. Now click on Exit from Firefox File menu. After that you should launch browser on your system and see whether it is working or not. If issue seems to be resolved than issue was happening because of hardware acceleration hence I am suggesting that you should updated graphic drivers or you should continue usage of Firefox without using hardware acceleration. Looking at the situation I am suspecting that bad profile might causing an issue. in order to figure out whether issue is caused by bad profile you have to create a new profile and test situation by using new one. In case it resolved the issue then you should migrate all the data to new profile. It consist of following steps. See that you have close Firefox completely. Now you should click on start button and click on Run. In Run dialog box you have to click enter ‘firefox.exe –p’ without quotes and click on Ok button. In case it does not work then you might need to mentioned full path of Firefox which I have mentioned below. Code: On 32-bit Windows: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" –p On 64-bit Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" –p Also see that Firefox is not running in the background. It might cause did not opening of Profile Manage. You should close all instances of Firefox or simply reboot your computer. Now in order to create a new profile you click on Create Profile into Profile Manager. After you have to click on Next and enter desire name . also you can mentioned desire location where you wanted to store your newly created profile. To do the same you have to click on Choose Folder. Click on Finish button in order to create a new profile. From Firefox windows you should click on Firefox button and click on Add-Ons button. It will launch Add-ons Manager. Go for Extension panel from Add-ons Manager tab. Now you have to click on name of extension from the list so that you can select the same. Now disable extension by clicking on Disable button. To do the same for every single extension left. Finally restart browser and see whether it is making any difference in the situation. In case problem still persisting than localstore.rdf file located into Firefox is corrupted. Trying to change email at passport.net and getting error "

Trying to change email at passport.net and getting error "You've already renamed this account. Please try again later" From the past few hours I have been trying to change the email at passport.net and I would like to add Gmail account to that. Whenever I try to do, it shows me following error message: "You've already renamed this account. Please try again later" Does anyone know why I cannot change the Email account? Or is it simply does not accept the Gmail account? What you have as a solution? Reply With Quote #2 Unread 1 Day Ago HKrish HKrish is offline Member Join Date: Jan 2011 Posts: 154 Re: Trying to change email at passport.net and getting error "You've already renamed this account. Please try again later" As far as I know that you cannot immediately change the Email address. The process of changing email address was designed to have a 6 - month period. So you are only able to rename you account once in a 6 month as I think. However if you are really looking forward to change the name of your account or simply rename it without waiting for 6 month or so, you had to rename your account to your original e-mail address. This way only you can rename it. But you cannot change the Email account within 6 months. This then brings me to: Account Information View or change your personal information, e-mail address, password or other information. Change your personal information Change your password Indicate what offers you want to receive The accounts of your children manage You must click the link "Edit your personal information" button, but you only see all that you can change profile information. There is no option like to remove your account or Email from there. Reply With Quote Reply

ives an error message - "Attachment Id has bad format".

Sending email via Windows Live Hotmail gives an error message - "Attachment Id has bad format". Whenever I am trying to send an Email from the Windows Live Hotmail it always shows me an error saying that "Attachment Id has bad format". It happens with all Email which I am trying to send. Due to this there is no way an email sent from this. I don’t know what this error message indicates. Do you think that there is any kind of signature file setup or something while removing it could solve the problem? Should I try to remove Auto signature to resolve this error. Reply With Quote #2 Unread 2 Days Ago Deverell Deverell is offline Member Join Date: May 2011 Posts: 336 Re: Sending email via Windows Live Hotmail gives an error message - "Attachment Id has bad format". Are you trying to send any attachment with emails? What kind of files you have attached to your Emails? What is the extension of those files? Are they executable files or batch files? As far as I know that these 2 files are cannot be attached to the email or to be sent. What browser you are using? In my case I had the same problem with Mozilla Firefox and after deleting the cache and the cookies from sites solved the problem. In order to clear the Cache go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now". To remove cookies Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies". Also make sure that you need to remove all traces of silverlight from your computer and then only you would be able to send emails with attachment normally. We learn that Windows Live Hotmail will be directly connected with the Office Web Apps to allow you to preview attachments that are Word documents, Excel or PowerPoint. Non-presence documents OneNote is not surprising because this format is used for taking notes and not as a format for formatting documents. I assume that your hotmail having the problem with Personal signatures. In order to remove the personal signature, you have to go to Options> More options> select Personal Email signature and remove it. I did the same and it worked for me. I have all the answers for your problem. What happens is that if you have a popup blocker that does not let you open or send emails. So all you have to do is try to open or send an email and when you see the message, click on to your pop-up blocker if it is the hotmail page. Simply allow your page and solves all. Otherwise you are still having problem with SMTP service and its causes are these: The SMTP service is starting automatically (check so be in the service Admin) Blacklists are in (check and performs the procedure to be removed from these lists) Your error can only be for one of these 2 reasons, from experience I am inclined to say that is blacklisting problem. Reply With Quote #5 Unread 1 Day Ago MaggieK MaggieK is offline Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 605 Re: Sending email via Windows Live Hotmail gives an error message - "Attachment Id has bad format". For those who encounter this error, I recommend, first of all to review their computer with a good antivirus and anti-Trojan, and the reason is simple: some service providers close the port when they see that much traffic for it, that is, when you send many emails and assume that is being used to send spam, and if we do not spend to send spam, we might be infected with a Trojan and unknown to us are using our computer to send spam. So make sure that your system is clean, the following is contact your ISP and ask for the closing of that port 25. If supplier confirms that it remains locked as a security measure, the solution is: In mail client and change the SMTP port to port 25 instead of port 587 which is also used for sending mail but authenticated users. A consequence of using a port that requires authentication, we, in the account properties, on the Servers tab, tick "My server requires authentication" and click on settings check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" Reply With Quote Reply

Windows Live ID email address no longer exists and can't receive a reset password link

Windows Live ID email address no longer exists and can't receive a reset password link There is a strange issue with Windows Live ID. Few days ago I have purchased a new Xbox 360 console for me. I already had the old one which is signed in but I don’t remember the password of that account because it just remembered on the console itself. So I tried to reset the password but due to some reason I could not able to receive password reset link. It prompts me that the Email address I am currently having does no longer exist. However there is no way I can update the Email address to get the password reset because I cannot login into my mail account without knowing the password. How can I get password reset link sent to my current email address? Reply With Quote #2 Unread 1 Day Ago Kaufman Kaufman is offline Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 665 Re: Windows Live ID email address no longer exists and can't receive a reset password link I think that you can get the password reset link in your Alternate email address. Usually whenever you send a request for password reset, they will not send the link on the same account except it will sent to toward your alternate account. This alternate account is one which I have specified during the creation of Windows Live ID or account. You can also create normal live id again, but there may be complications (there have already experience with), there will be awarded for the same LiveID different account ID. Reply With Quote #3 Unread 1 Day Ago Victorious mind Victorious mind is offline Member Join Date: Jan 2011 Posts: 152 Re: Windows Live ID email address no longer exists and can't receive a reset password link I have the same problem: I would change my hotmail address Windows Live ID, never mind the consequences that it would generate. In fact I have a (big) worries related to the Microsoft Xbox Live and I would need at any price change of address, I cannot do directly by the Xbox 360. Later I have determined I can really try the Windows live account recovery process. To do this you have to go this link in order to recover your Windows Live ID account. This is the only possible way to recover the account but you must pass the validation. So far that you have to account information and go through the process. Once the you passed the validation, you will get an option to send the password reset link to your preferred alternate email address. Reply With Quote #4 Unread 1 Day Ago Sydney_7 Sydney_7 is offline Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 536 Re: Windows Live ID email address no longer exists and can't receive a reset password link In some cases, you should remove a Windows Live ID unmanaged. Generally, the removal of the Live ID is not managed by the domain is the recommended practice. The owner removed the Live ID can still log on to Windows Live and continue to use all of the associated service. However, should rename it using an email address not associated with e-mail services based on the Windows Live ID, such as Windows Live Hotmail. When you remove the Live ID from the domain, you can create a new ID with the same name, but the password must be different from that of the old ID removed. The old one removed from the domain does not expire, but may remain in a state of forced renaming indefinitely. Since you probably do not know the password of the Windows Live ID removed, if errors occur upon removal of the Live ID, try using a different password. Reply With Quote

After uninstalling Google chrome, Desktop shortcuts, hyperlinks (in Outlook, etc) stopped working

After uninstalling Google chrome, Desktop shortcuts, hyperlinks (in Outlook, etc) stopped working I am having a computer which runs windows 7 operating system. I have installed several programs on my computer. Whenever any new software comes in the market then I always give it a try on my system and just check the features of it. So with same thing I installed Google chrome browser and after using it for some time I just uninstalled it, so then I found a problem that all my desktop shortcuts, then several hyperlinks from outlook, etc are not working. So what shall be the fix for the same? No need to worry about this because I have found the solution for this which might help you to solve the problem. The thing is when you have installed the chrome on your computer then there is a option for setting it as Default browser, thus after you have uninstalled the browser there is no default browser and hence due to which shortcuts have been affected. So in order to make those shortcuts again you have to map the default program again so that after pointing it to a particular program it would respond when you click on that shortcut. You need to go to default programs using tools menu from my computer, then from Files Tab just associate the files which are not getting opened by mapping it to needed program. This might happen because of terminated uninstall process and would have affected registry files. So better is to install the chrome again on your computer, so that all the missing or affected settings come back again and you have everything working properly Reply With Quote #5 Old 16-06-2011 Henryosa's Avatar Henryosa Henryosa is offline Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Posts: 1,349 Re: After uninstalling Google chrome, Desktop shortcuts, hyperlinks (in Outlook, etc) stopped working Yes definitely as you are saying that the problem have occurred after the chrome uninstallation process. So in order to make everything work properly, you have to restore the system to an earlier state. So just go to programs, accessories, system restore and there you have to select previous date, thus when you start performing restore, the process would take some time and it would give you the original working system, and the problem caused would be removed. I would recommend you to use Firefox as it is the only browser which I think has all the features. I am using it from many years, and it hasn’t dissatisfied me ever. So jut have its setup file, and when you install it on your computer, then don’t forget to check the option, to make it as default browser. This would make the default browser and also the links which are not responding would now be pointed to Firefox and thus you would be able to go to that link. I guess it is an outlook which is causing this problem. Also to be clearer, just go to registry editor and then check whether there are any entries of chrome browser. As you want to remove the chrome, so if you find any entries there then chrome hasn’t got uninstalled properly and thus you need to manually remove the entries from registry editor to fix the problem. Reply With Quote #8 Unread 1 Day Ago Southcmft Posts: n/a Re: After uninstalling Google chrome, Desktop shortcuts, hyperlinks (in Outlook, etc) stopped working No, Chrome is the problem. You need to reset the program defaults in the control panel. This also effects Outlook when trying to open a link. By resetting your default browser to IE or Firefox, you should be able to fix the Outlook problem, but it may take some more playing. Restoring the system to a before Chrome was installed is also a good way to fix all of it, especially if it has only been a few days. This has become a big problem as Chrome is offered by default with a lot of free software. IMHO, IE9 or the latest Firefox are much better browsers. Reply With Quote

Internet Explorer 9 wont delete cookies when set to delete all history on exit

have windows 7 and have installed the latest Internet explorer 9 on it. Previously I was having IE8 installed and it was working fine without any issues, but after i installed Internet Explorer 9, I started facing the problem of browsing history not deleting its browsing history on exit. I have already checked all things in here for history, cookies, etc by going into - Tools >> Internet Options >> Browsing History. For example, whenever I sing into yahoo mail, and then close the same browser without signing out and wait for sometime and relaunch IE9, I am always signed into yahoo mail. Can anyone please help me out from this scenario. This is actually a new feature implemented in Internet Explorer 9 that over rides the other settings in it. It will keep your cookies for favoutite sites and including the homepage. After that you have to choose “Delete browsing history on exit” Next you will need to click “Settings” with “Browsing history” After that you just have to select “Never” in “Check for newer version of stored pages” Lastly just click “OK” and close the browser, in your next new page of Internet Explorer 9 you will not face this issue again. In my windows live hotmail contact list a "DrunkGirlRoom" is appearing, how to delete it

In my windows live hotmail contact list a "DrunkGirlRoom" is appearing, how to delete it I am using hotmail service from last six to eight months. In my contact list I am seeing a new contact which I didn’t add. It’s the drunkgirlroom contact. I don’t know from where it has been added to my contact list but want to remove it from the list. This may be caused due to pending of the reply. The group is added to your contact list automatically. Provide a reply to the group, so that there will no future problems. To avoid this kind of problems give replies to the invitations. To remove group from contact list follow the steps. 1. Go to Contacts. 2. Click on View invitations. 3. Click on Groups. 4. Click No, thanks, to decline the invitation of the group. I discussed this problem with my friend and he advice me to delete it from the MSN messenger. I delete the contact from the messenger and was unable to see the contact again in my contact list. Go to the messenger and delete the contact from the list. This can be simply done by login to your mail account through msn messenger. Go to your contact list directory. The new feature is named as recently emailed list. This feature makes the list of the email address recently used. This emailed list adds the contact to the contact list automatically. This feature uses the auto-complete and contact picker to add the contact to contact list. This feature does not have the option to delete or modify the contact.
