How to change windows live ID email address Hi, I have recently changed my email address and I want to even change the address associated with my live Id. Whenever I go to change address and select account availability it states the address is available but when I click on to change a message appears saying that there is a temporary problem and it cannot be changed. By the way the following steps will guide you to rename your account: Select options from the Hotmail inbox. Click on “Managing You account”. Click on the “Change hyper link” next to Windows Live ID. Enter new email and click save. The feature in which you can change email address is applicable only to Email address as Sign-In accounts for example @yahoo.com or @gamil.com etc, If you are using an email address that was provided by MSN or by Windows Live you cannot change the name of your mail account. For example, you are using a @hotmail.com email address or a windows Live Admin centre email address.
