AMD is expected to lower its prices by 10 to 20% in early December. The smelter has provided information to retailers through a newsletter. While the Core i7 comes at the top of the range, AMD hopes some chip market share to Intel in the mid-range segment. This will also allow AMD to sell some processors in addition to Christmas pending the arrival of its Phenom II early January. As a reminder, the new CPU's manufacturer should be announced at the opening of CES, January 8, probably during the keynote of its President and CEO Dirk Meyer.
