Nano Computer

Rs.500 Computer ?? Indeed yes.Forget the $100 laptop from MIT
(US),Indian government is ready to launch a $10 computer. The IIT
(Indian Institute of Technology), Chennai, and the IISc (Indian
Institute of Science), Bangalore have achieved much more than the MIT
was trying to.
According to the dnaindia.com, India's Human Resource Minister Mr.
Arjun Singh will launch the Nano Computer. Not much of the
specifications of the Nano Computer are known at the moment, except
that it would contain Wi-Fi and/or Ethernet connections, expandable
memory, power consumption of just 2W,and a DVD drive. The Nano Computer
will use the Opensource softwares along with the Linux based operating
system.

As the Nano car from TATA will fulfill the rural Indian's car
dream, the Nano Computer may develop geeks out of the rural India. The
total cost of the computer may be a little more than Rs.500 but will
be a lot cheaper than the present cheapest computer.
