Lenovo ThinkPad shuts off via SMS

"An anti-theft system being developed by Lenovo inhibits access to the system with a simple SMS"

Beginning in the first quarter of 2009 Lenovo implemented on some ThinkPad notebook series features an alarm that would inhibit access to the system. When the user is aware of the theft of your PC will be sufficient to send a special message from your phone. Once the Thinkpad will switched on and try to access a GSM network will be inhibited.

As reports TG Daily, the functionality by Lenovo was developed in collaboration with Phoenix, the renowned manufacturer of PC BIOS. At the moment it seems clear that the security system inhibits access to PC, and then booting the operating system.
