Microsoft announces free Morro antivirus software

The U.S. giant Microsoft has announced, it would offer free from the second half of 2009 software protection against viruses and other threats that could affect computers running Windows. As a result, Microsoft also announced that following safety Windows Live OneCare will be sold.

Better known under the code name Morro. This suite is free and should resume the vast majority of features in Live OneCare, the antivirus protection, and against spyware. It remains to confirm whether the newcomer will have maintenance features as OneCare.

Morro was announced by Microsoft as lighter and more efficient than Live OneCare, and should be compatible with Windows XP, Vista and even the future Windows 7.
