Cannot download emails using Outlook Express

Cannot download emails using Outlook Express
Yesterday I came home after a long holiday and I checked mail with 20k emails in my Inbox. Now my problem is that I cannot download them on my system using Outlook Express but can see them on web. Whenever I try it gets stuck out. What should I do?

Delete all the spam emails from your account and then download the emails using Outlook Express.

Download emails in part because 20k is really very large for Outlook Express.

You can use IMAP for downloading such a large amount of data (emails) in your account.
