How to use Internet Explorer on Mac system?
Hello there, I have a Powerbook G4 which is installed with Mac OS X 10.5.8 on it. I am using Safari as the default browser on my computer. I have to visit the company website regularly to see my the information regarding the Payroll and the benefits to all the employees. The Website is designed to be viewed in Internet explorer hence whenever I visit the website using Macbook and Safari, the Computer restarts. Therefore I want to know How to use Internet Explorer on Mac system? If there are any ideas regarding the issue, please share them.

The computer should not restart when the Website which is designed to view in Internet explorer is viewed in some other browser. I think there is some problem with the installed version of the Safari which you are using as the computer is restarting when the website is viewed in Safari. Uninstall Safari from the computer and then remove all the keys related to it from the computers. Once all the keys are removed, download the latest version of Safari from the Apple official website and then install it on the computer. Installing the latest version of the browser will solve the issue.

Earlier version of Mac operating system use to come with the default Internet browser as Internet Explorer. But when the Apple came up with their own version of the Internet Browser called as Safari, the support for Internet Explorer was removed from the Mac operating system. Hence there is no way in which you will be able install and run the Internet explorer on the New Mac operating system. You can check the official Microsoft site and see if the setup file for Internet explorer is available for Mac system. If it is available then you can download and install it on the computer and use it without any problems.

There is a way in which you can use Internet explorer on the Mac system. You will have to use the Windows operating system on the Macbook so that you are able to use Internet explorer on the Mac system. Mac systems allow the installation and the usage of Windows operating system on them along with the Mac operating system. Check out the official Apple website to know how to install and use Windows operating system on the Mac system. Follow the steps given and install the Windows operating system. After installing Windows operating system, there would be no problem like browser conflict as the Windows installation comes with default browser as Internet explorer.

You will be needing a Bootcamp utility to be able to install the Windows operating system on the Mac computer. First you will have to make a separate partition on the hard drive using the Bootcamp utility and then install the Windows operating system on it. Create some free space on the hard drive. Free space should be sufficient for installation of the Windows operating system along with all the components of it. Once the free space is created, run the Bootcamp utility and then create the partition on the free space created. Once the Partition is created, insert the installation disk of the Windows and restart the computer. Now the Bootcamp utility will detect the partition created for the Windows installation and will start the installation procedure for Windows on it. Once the Windows is installed, the system will give you option as from which operating system to boot.

There is no need to install Windows operating system on the Mac computer just to use the Internet explorer. Safari has a built in feature which enables it to act if the Website is being viewed in the Internet Explorer. Enable this feature and you will be able to view the website using safari as if the Website is being viewed in Internet Explorer.
