Unable to get internet connection
I am having two computers both of them running Windows XP Pro. One of them is getting an IP address from the router but can't surf net on it.
I tried a couple of things such as uninstalling and reinstalling the adapter, full scanning the computer for the viruses using different antivirus softwares, changed the LAN cable but all went in vain. Tried pinging or tracert option but no luck. But the strange part is that the other system is able to get the net connection which annoys me a lot.
How can I fix this issue?

Have you tried pinging different IP addresses or websites such as Google.com or Yahoo.com?

Make sure your NIC is ENABLED with updated drivers or you can also try some different card just to confirm that your card is working properly. You can check that in Device Manager.

Have to seen that the IP address that you are getting is valid or not? Even though you are getting the ip address, it doesn't mean that you can surf the internet. You may still find certain problems will surfing the net.
